This tool was developed based on the recommendations from the Carcross Tagish First Nation, Kwanlin Dun First Nation, and the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation governments.
This assessment tool is just one of many ways to approach capacity assessment. The needs and circumstances of the department should determine the direction of the capacity assessment. If the process suggested in this tool is not appropriate in certain circumstances, or if it is not a good fit for a particular department, this tool can be modified and there are a number of other approaches available.
